On the morning of January 16th, SDUT held a media forum on high-quality development in the conference room on the second floor north of Xingyuan Hotel. Representatives from state media stationed in Shandong were invited to gather by Jixia Lake to jointly plan for a promising future. LIU Hongchang, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dazhong News Group; ZHANG Weihua, Deputy Party Secretary of Shandong Radio and TV Station; YU Hongbo, Party Secretary of SDUT; DU Fangling, Deputy Party Secretary of SDUT; and LIU Xingqing, Member of the Party Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of SDUT attended the forum.
At the forum, representatives from People’s Daily Shandong Branch, Xinhua News Agency Shandong Branch, China Media Group Shandong Station, Guangming Daily Shandong Bureau, Economic Daily Shandong Bureau, Science and Technology Daily Shandong Bureau, China Youth Daily Shandong Bureau, Farmers’ Daily Shandong Station, China Culture Daily Shandong Bureau, China Education News Shandong Station, and People’s Daily Online (Shandong) delivered speeches in turn. They fully affirmed the achievements of SDUT in its construction and development in recent years. Combining the publicity characteristics and reporting focuses of their respective media platforms, representatives of these media put forward targeted and practical suggestions toenhance the quality and effectiveness of SDUT’s public opinion and publicity work. They noted that universities are “goldmines” of news materials. The media would further strengthen communication and exchanges with SDUT, deeply explore typical experiences and practices as well as outstanding examples of faculty and students through multiple channels, and foster a favorable public opinion atmosphere for the construction of a modern and high-level university.
Leaders of SDUT stated in their remarks that the understanding and support from all sectors of the society, especially the media, was most indispensable for the development of SDUT. They hoped that through this media forum, SDUT would establish a more stable, smooth and efficient communication and cooperation mechanism with all media platforms, and jointly plan and launch a batch of news works of profoundness, warmth and influence so as to pass on positive energy and promote truth, goodness and beauty, and foster a harmonious and uplifting campus culture. Additionally, SDUT briefed the attendees on the preparations for its 70th anniversary celebration and the schedule of key events.Media representatives were sincerely invited to follow and report related activities in a timely manner, working together to create a joyous and festive atmosphere for the anniversary celebrations.

Prior to the forum, media representatives toured Planarian Research Science Exhibition Hall, Center for Advanced Laser Manufacturing, Institute of Novel Polyurethane Materials, Yingan Art Museum, Cultural “Double Creation” Achievements Exhibition and SDUT History Museum.
