On the morning of March 7th, SDUT held a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and anExpanded Meeting of the Party Building Leadership Group in the Conference Room on the 9th floor of Hongyuan Building to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on fostering and practicing a correct view of political achievements, to convey and implement the spirits of the meetings held by the Leadership Group for Party Building of the CPC Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Leadership Group for Party Building of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, as well as relevant notifications and requirements, and to launch the learning and education campaign on fostering and practicing a correct view of political achievements on SDUT campus.
SU Shoubo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT and Team Leader of the Special Working Group for Learning and Education, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. University leaders and members of the Leadership Group for Party Building attended the meeting, together with Party Committee secretaries of all secondary-level units.
It was pointed out at the meeting that carrying out the learning and education work on fostering and practice a correct view of political achievements among the Party is an important task of Party building this year, and is of great significance for advancing the cause of the Party and the country, and promoting the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party. We should raise our political standing and deeply understand that carrying out this work on campus is an inevitable requirement to honor the Party’s original aspiration and founding mission, and to fulfil the fundamental task of fostering virtue and cultivating talents through education. It is an effective way to strengthen the contingent of cadres and further advance the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, and an important initiative for boosting connotative development and accelerating the construction of a distinctive, modern high-level university.
The meeting emphasized that it is necessary to firmly adhere to the general requirements of our Party to “serve the public, benefit the people, make sound decisions, and work in earnest”, and to integrate closely with reality and advance learning, investigation and rectification as a whole in a coordinated way. We should understand the profound connotation of “honoring the Party’s original aspiration and founding mission” in study and discussion, and further strengthen our original aspiration, mission and responsibility. We should follow the practical orientation of “finding gaps and strengthening self-cultivation” and accurately identify problems and dig deep into their root causes, so as to clarify the direction of efforts, and strengthen demonstration guidance and warning education. We should focus on the specific requirements of “offset weakness, strengthen vulnerable links” in rectification and improvement, address both symptoms and root causes, rectify all identified problems item by item, strive to solve the pressing difficulties and concerns of teachers and students, and break the bottlenecks that constrain the high-quality development of the university. We should calibrate the action criterion of “optimizing mechanisms and improving effectiveness” in formulating rules and systems, focus on closing loopholes and strengthening weak links at the institutional level, establish long-term mechanisms, standardize the exercise of power, optimize the assessment and evaluation system, and promote the accurate and effective implementation of important tasks and key matters. We should foster the responsibility of “relieving people’s worries and doing practical things” in open-door education, vigorously promote the work style of “being rigorous, earnest, meticulous, practical, efficient and caring”, further smooth the channels for teachers and students to express their demands, and regularly carry out activities such as “I do practical things for teachers and students”, so that teachers and students can truly feel the new atmosphere and changes brought by the campaign.
The meeting required that given the tight schedule, heavy tasks and high requirements of thiscampaign, Party organizations at all levels should strengthen organizational leadership, consolidate work responsibilities, integrate relevant work, advance in a solid and orderly manner, guard against formalistic practices, enhance publicity and guidance, and effectively transmit the achievements of the campaign into a strong driving force and tangible results for promoting the high-quality development of the university’s cause.
